Keep It Sweetly Simple!

Simple easy service with one of Canberra's most experienced celebrants. (I have married nearly 1500 couples) Your beautiful, memorable and personalised alternative to a Registry Office wedding. Only one one-hour meeting required and the next time we meet, it's your wedding day!

What to bring to our pre-wedding lodgement meeting

We'll have a meeting at least one month before your wedding. All the preparation that we need to do together can be done in this one meeting. You will lodge with me, your Notice of Intended Marriage. This Notice remains with me until after your wedding, when I submit your marriage documents to the Registrar of Births Deaths and Marriages, either in the ACT or NSW. During our meeting, as all celebrants are required to do by law, I will speak with each of you separately and privately, to be confident that each of you is voluntarily choosing to get married.

Wedding Service ~ beautifully simple and simply beautiful

A legal wedding can only take place when all required documents have been sighted by your celebrant.

Please bring to our one-hour meeting: (at least one month before your wedding)
Birth certificates or extracts. These can be copies.

And/or passports, either Australian or from overseas. Must be the actual passports.
If you can’t find one of these, or both, don’t worry. You can bring them with you on your wedding day to be sighted before the ceremony. Birth Certificates are preferred. They’re ‘primary documents’ and have more details. Your passport will serve as evidence of your date and place of birth, as well as your photo ID.

Photo ID for both of you. This is usually your driver licence or passport but the notes on your Notice of Intended Marriage Page 2 will show you more options.

Divorce or death certificate/s, if applicable. (A divorce certificate may be a copy.)
Change of name certificate or stat dec, if applies.

If you now use a married name but you’d prefer to use your birth name on your Notice (and your three certificates of marriage) bring evidence of name change from your birth name by previous marriage. This can be your personal Marriage Certificate which you received at your wedding, or a full certificate that you bought from the Registrar of Births Deaths and Marriages in the state or territory – or other country – in which you married. (Your divorce certificate will not contain this information.)

Notice of Intended Marriage
Make sure you see five pages. Please bring Pages 3 to 5 to our meeting.
Fill them in before the meeting but don’t sign yet.
If you’re not able to print the Notice and fill it in before we meet, I can give you a Notice to fill in at our meeting. The meeting may take a little longer. (No problemo.)
If you've already sent me your signed and witnessed Notice by email or text so you can marry in one month, the Marriage Act now allows me to use my electronic copy (which I've printed) as your Notice. I’ll already have the Date Received filled in when we meet.

Fee $700 for your wedding in your chosen venue in ACT or nearby NSW.
(Extra travel cost may apply.) Please pay by cash at our meeting, or Pay ID or transfer. If paying by PayID or transfer, please pay by phone during our meeting, or pay beforehand. Thanks. I’ll give you a receipt, along with a page headed ‘Our Agreement’, with the details of your wedding plan which we've worked out together (such as whether I'll need my PA system or not).
